The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has emerged as the winner of the 2025 National Insurance Debate, organised by the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA).
The competition, aimed at deepening young people’s understanding of the insurance industry, brought together tertiary institutions from across the country to engage in high-level intellectual discourse on insurance and financial literacy.
KNUST, proudly sponsored by GLICO Group Limited, demonstrated outstanding knowledge, eloquence, and analytical skill to secure the top position. The University’s team outperformed Ada College of Education, which was sponsored by Priority Insurance Company Limited, in a keenly contested final.
The National Insurance Debate provides a platform for students to showcase their public speaking, critical thinking, and research abilities while promoting awareness of the vital role of insurance in national development.
In their congratulatory message, the Ghana Insurers Association commended KNUST for their remarkable performance and dedication throughout the competition.
“KNUST demonstrated exceptional knowledge, eloquence, and critical thinking to claim the prestigious title,” the Association stated in an official post.
